PC coupling part for endoscope and sterile drape
Coupling part in PC for a sterile single-use assembly connecting an endoscope and a sterile drape. The system forms a sterile barrier between the patient and the camera system and comprises, among other elements, a stainless steel tube with a flat glass window, the coupling part, a union nut, a clamping ring and a PE bag.
The plastic assembly connects the PE bag to the coupling unit via the clamping ring. The mechanical latching connection is locked by twisting and places high demands on dimensional stability, dimensional accuracy, visual part quality and the reliable operation of the locking mechanism.
The components are produced in three injection moulds; the coupling part was implemented in two variants with an internal cam at 0° and 30° using a conversion set. In production, washer-disinfector cleaning and packaging in an ISO Class 7 cleanroom follow, supplemented by tactile and visual sample inspections and microscopic visual inspection in the cleanroom.
