Scalpel handle with an overmoulded stainless steel insert
Scalpel handle in medical-grade PP for surgical instruments in human and veterinary medicine. The part is designed for ergonomic handling, secure retention of replaceable scalpel blades and reproducible positioning of the stainless steel insert.
The milled and electropolished insert is placed manually into a two-cavity injection mould using a loading aid and overmoulded by precision injection moulding. Secure fixing of the insert, the solid handle contour and a clean, flash-free transition without unwanted overmoulding are decisive; parts undergo 100% visual inspection, supplemented by optical and tactile sample inspections.
