Insulator for bipolar vessel-sealing instruments
Delicate insulator in natural-coloured, unreinforced, high-flow PEEK for bipolar vessel-sealing instruments used in minimally invasive surgery. The internal functional part provides electrical and geometric separation within the distal area of the instrument and has to remain precisely positionable despite its small size.
It is produced by micro injection moulding in a two-cavity injection mould in MTT size. Complete mould filling of the delicate free-form geometries and the reliable control of very small functional contours with tight tolerance requirements are particularly demanding.
Clean parting lines, reliable demoulding and precisely matched slider areas within the complex micro contours are decisive for reproducible production. Quality assurance is based on optical and tactile sample inspections.
