Handle system for bipolar coagulation forceps
Fixed and moving handles in PEEK for bipolar coagulation forceps used in minimally invasive surgery. The fixed handle holds the moving handle; together, the two components allow the jaw to be opened and closed precisely.
The material selection takes account of requirements for reprocessing, sterilisation and resistance to media. The pair of parts is produced in a 1+1-cavity injection mould, in which balanced mould filling and the hydraulic slide mechanism on the fixed handle are particularly demanding.
As visible handle components, the parts place high demands on surface quality, parting lines that are unobtrusive to the touch and a homogeneous EDM texture. Production quality assurance includes 100% visual inspection plus optical and tactile sample inspections.
