Single-use AVAX split butterfly valve for OEB 5 containment
Single-use OEB 5 containment interface for pharmaceutical material transfer. The assembly enables docking, locking, opening, closing and sealing within demanding containment processes and is designed for safe handling and controlled product transfer.
The system consists of a seal housing and a disc that can rotate through 180° inside the housing and seals in the 0° position. The components are produced as a hard/soft combination in PC/ABS and TPE and provide a cost-effective alternative to stainless steel containment systems where demanding sealing performance is required for OEB 5 applications.
The project was implemented using five injection moulds for single-shot and multi-component moulding. The sealing contours between the disc and the seal housing, and their reproducible manufacture in production, are particularly demanding. Quality assurance includes 100% visual inspection plus optical and tactile sample inspections.
