Housing part for medical 3D visualisation systems
Housing part in PEI for a medical 3D visualisation system used in minimally invasive surgery. The component serves as the outer housing that holds and protects the electronics and is designed for a secure fit and reproducible dimensional accuracy.
The material selection takes account of reprocessing and sterilisation requirements, including STERRAD NX. The dimensional accuracy of the internal contours for the stainless steel connector at the front and for the bend protection at the cable outlet is particularly relevant.
An economical master mould concept was implemented with one mould frame and three conversion sets for geometrically similar moulded parts in different sizes and lengths. Quality assurance includes 100% visual inspection plus optical and tactile sample inspections.
