  1. Founded as an Injection Moulding Technical Centre

BERGER starts operations in Kenzingen as an injection moulding technical centre. The initial focus is on sampling new moulds, material selection and the development of suitable injection moulding processes.

At this stage, the company is primarily focused on providing technical support for new components and moulds – before the later expansion into series production.

  2. Initial ISO 9001 Certification

BERGER obtains ISO 9001 certification for its quality management system for the first time.

Processes, responsibilities and quality-related procedures are systematically established within a certified management system – providing an important foundation for the further expansion of series production.

  3. Expansion of Series Production

As series business grows, BERGER increasingly aligns its production and organisational structures with the repeatable manufacture of customer-specific plastic components.

Alongside sampling and process development, series production becomes an independent and steadily growing part of the business.

  4. In-House Developed CAQ System

BERGER introduces an in-house developed CAQ system. Inspection planning, inspection results, approvals and other quality-related information are systematically integrated into project and series production processes.

The system has been continuously developed ever since and is now an integral part of quality planning and series monitoring.

  5. Expansion of the Kenzingen Site

With an extension of approximately 700 m², BERGER expands its Kenzingen site with additional production and office space.

The expansion creates additional manufacturing capacity and provides the space required for the company’s continued development.

  6. Second Generation Takes Over Management

Marco and Patrick Berger assume responsibility for managing BERGER. For the first time, the family business is fully managed by the second generation.

The generational transition ensures continuity in company management while marking a new phase in BERGER’s development.

  7. Cleanroom and Automated Cleaning System

With the commissioning of an ISO Class 7 cleanroom and an automated cleaning and disinfection system, BERGER extends its process chain beyond injection moulding.

Since then, cleaning, controlled handling, inspection, assembly and packaging can be carried out at the Kenzingen site for components with corresponding cleanliness and documentation requirements.

  8. Further Expansion of Technical Specialisation

With a growing number of projects in medical technology and pharmaceutical-related applications, BERGER increasingly aligns its production and quality processes with components requiring high levels of process reliability, documentation and controlled downstream processing.

At the same time, the share of technically demanding applications involving high-performance polymers, tight tolerances and additional cleanroom and cleaning processes continues to grow.
